I'm the father of a twelve year-old girl, and I was a little relieved when the doctor doing the ultrasound on my pregnant wife told us we were going to have a girl.
Having been a boy and having spent a good part of my working life in all-male environments, I hadn't been looking forward to the challenges of trying to raise a son who ended up being a decent man in spite of all the social and hormonal pressures pushing him towards becoming a total dickhead.
As a male I feel self-conscious about liking/wanting a daughter more?
