As a foreigner, what do you think of the us?

I'm an American and it saddens me when I see how ignorant and selfish the people of my country are (not to say that people in other countries aren't).

I really enjoy learning about other cultures. I find it fascinating in every way. Some of my closest friends are from places like Bangladesh and Madagascar, and I love to learn about their customs. I believe that in order to be a well-rounded person, you have to see outside your own beliefs and customs and be open to listening and experiencing those of others.

I wish Americans would just realize that we dislike them because they think that America is THE best country in the world, no questions asked, even though around 30% of Americans can't even pin America up on a world map...

As one who lives in the US, the country and the people in it are corrupt.

America is an amazing country! We have freedom and pride. The generalizations people have about the U.S. only shows the complete ignorance of so many. We could all list the stereotypes about every country and what would we achieve? Nothing. How about you go to America, learn it's history, absorb it, and then comment on this question.

I chose the option saying that the US isn't as good because of power-hungry politicians. Tis true. The US used to be nice but now all America wants to do is seize more land, build more skyscrapers, wave more flags, etc.

I come from the country that was once the world's biggest imperialist superpower. I'm glad we're not any more. It takes a lot of the pressure off. The United States is very close to losing its status as world superpower. I don't think it was easy for you, and it wasn't easy for us either. Good luck to China who are in the chair next. Expect a huge amount of criticism aimed at China!

As for America, I've always been fond but I think the next 25 years are going to make me fonder still and I think the world is finally going to be as nice to you as it should have been, all things being equal. I like America. I can't wait to see what you become now you've come of age.

It's slowly (but surely) starting to mind it's own fucking business with B O'B. So it's not all bad.

The USA has good and bad people,just like all countries in the world,great and stupid people too,like everywhere,the USA is a country with good and bad traits,the government is not perfect,no government on earth is perfect,because all politicians,no matter where they are from,they're full of shit,they just want power and control over people.
Also I've read about conspiracy theories,and it makes me think a lot more,countries are just an imaginary limit set up by humans,and those people who control the world,they act certain ways to move events and create or destruct what they want,what will make them more powerful,so countries are just imaginary,people make them physical limits.

A nation where people know nothing about the other world and what's happening outside their own borders...

I r amerriccan and got to go ot da best skools! LOL j/k our schools are crap, AND i say that as a teacher, but as a hiker, we got ALOT of great landscape in a single country, which means no need for a passport if I want to visit old mountains, then vast desert, then ocean, then ride a river boat, then see a canyon or a waterfall etcetera. At least my country has a beautiful countryside. Sigh... now I wanna go for a walk.

I've never been, but it's always on the TV, and always in the news- it's the land of tales. Everybody who comes from the U.S. has a story to tell. I'm going to Florida in a couple of years for my mate's 18th- should be interesting :L

The only reason that American ignorance is more despised than other country's ignorance is because Americans are louder. America is not the best country and I believe that they should try something like neutralization. Many people have one opinion and are very close-minded.

Born and bred a Canadian and will die as one. My opinion of the States is that it sucks. They are the most laziest people going. They do not believe in working, that is why Countries like China and Canada have taken them over. Canada mainly on their automobile factouries, and China on everything else. The fucken States is nothing but one big WELFARE COUNTRY.

The country peaked pretty early, when it was still really about freedom and following The Constitution. Now both those things are trampled on a regular basis and no one seems to care. These days the government is as corrupt as any other and I'm curious to see how things go when like every other empire it inevitably falls.

It's a bit confusing how everyone acts like their country is better than the US. All governments are corrupt. If any other government in the world had the power the US does they'd fuck up just the same. All countries have stupid citizens. It's delusional to think that US citizens are any less knowledgeable about the world. Their knowledge is just in a different area. Someone in a European country may know about a bunch of different countries surrounding them, but the amount of land-mass might be a fraction of the US land-mass. It's a big country. Knowing about that country means you know about a fairly large portion of the civilized world.

I wish to live in US there are just stereotypes about the US people. USA is one from the best countries IN THE WORLD

A sad excuse for a country. They have the worst education system i know of which results in retarded kids. Their army is too much of a pussy to nuke iran. They dont seem to react much to terrorism.

I'd really like to show some of you my America. I agree with many of the comments but I also don't associate with those people.
