IMO, people who come over illegally are a slap in the face to the people who go through years of HELL trying to come to this country legally to be a legit citizen. I wont get on my soapbox either because my story is a 5 year journey through multiple countries just trying to gain lawful citizenship.

It is far worst than you think. The asian people get involved in marrages to come here and all the mexicans do is just get a job to get an ITIN number from the Social Security Office, from there Police will rarely hassle them as they are "Paying taxes" and working "legit" at a job.
HOWEVER, when it comes time to pay taxes, they often will claim at least six people from Mexico to get every penny back and if they actually owe taxes, they just won't file. I've had numerous walk-outs of the tax office when I tell them that they get nothing back and that they owe. The sad thing is that, and I am being honest, 75% of them DON'T pay a dollar in taxes, they either claim exempt or claim six dependants on their W4 forms at work so no taxes are taken out during the year. Then when they are walking out, they curse me out like I'M the one who fucked them. As much as sometimes I would have liked too, I am required by the Oregon Board of Tax Practitioners to obey the laws and not pull "games" with others tax returns to help them.
I truly feel bad for people like you suggested who struggle so damn hard to come here like the stories you know or even those that I personally know through my dealings with the asian culture.
It personally saddens me when I find out that certain employers will sign fake Social Security numbers to hire the illegals or flat out don't care. I cannot tell you how many different returns I had to go through the whole process for an ITEN for the people even knowing EVERY SINGLE W2 that I saw had a Social Security Number on it. And doing those forms is a bitch and it sucks more when odds are they are just going to walk out anyways if they have to pay.
Sometimes, I find it extremely hard NOT to be a racist, some of the fuckers who posted here before me certainly hate White people but it is apparently okay for them but not for a white person. For fucks sake, they should just go home.
