I get so tired of the "I'm cool with it but, God forbid, just don't let my kids learn about this" arguments, the same ones there were about homosexuals. People are very much not cool with something if they find it so vile and disgusting that their children require protection from it.
Now I tend to agree that if someone feels their child shouldn't be learning about sex at /all/, it's probably not okay for a gay guy to walk up and say "well when I have sex I tend to put my dick a little somewhere else than you might have heard, kid" or a lesbian to sit down with them to share their opinions on what gender gives the best oral. None of that should happen any more than a straight person should be doing that, but that's not what's being asked for.
Homosexuals just want their sexuality to be allowed to be visible to the extent that heterosexuality is. Transgender people just want to be allowed to publicly exist and be understood as a thing by, yes, even children, in the same way everyone else is allowed to. The fact that homophobes and transphobes somehow see that as equating reading erotica to their children before bed only highlights their phobia. No one is trying to give little kids sex ed. It's about different types of people, just as kids knowing males and females exist is fine and no one equates that with teaching them about genitals and fucking.
