Well, it's a mathematical certainty that anything that complies with the laws of physics will exist somewhere in the universe. The chances of humans being the most intelligent beings in the universe are incrediably low; if the universe is infinitely large, then it is likely that more intelligent life than humans exist. In fact, if we can imagine it, it stands to reason that somewhere in the universe it must exist.
