I always love finding others out there who have a strong connection with a fictional character, that it becomes love. Sometimes I feel so alone I need to seek out others like me online lol <3
Btw Is it normal too look in a crowd of people and ask yourself "I wonder if they love the same character I do?" lol now I'm trailing off, I always do that but yeah super interested in your thoughts so post away!
It's awesome when they don't age, isn't it? Then you don't have to remember the new details the next time they pop into your head! Sometimes I imagine the character I like the way he looked in the past, other times I think of him as his normal self in the present. lol all depends on my mood XD
Until you start thinking about their age (either "according-to-storyline" age or "when said character is introduced" - take your pick, although it's another dilemma in itself) in relation to now (and consequently how they might look if they had aged).
Perhaps I am just thinking too hard on this.
Oh I fall for fictional characters all the time. Sometimes it's really depressing knowing they are not real. Whether they're characters from books, movies, or movie adaptations of books, Lol really doesn't matter. I can fall hard for them.
Newt from Maze Runner (movie version), Mr. Darcy from both book and movies(especially Pride and Prejudice and Zombies version), Bucky Barnes from Captain America series (movies), and Daryl Dixon from The Walking Dead. The attraction is not only based on how good looking they are, (though I will admit that when put on screen, they are stunning! Lol) but for me it's about their troubled feelings and personalities. I like the characters that can be far from perfect, but still surprise you in the best way possible. Not necessarily always bad-boy types, but the ones with obvious flaws yet the sense to not be solely identified by them. If that makes any sense.... Lol. I mean even Mr. Darcy has his flaws.
Normal or not, this is me. Lol.
My current obsession is Poland from Hetalia.
I don't often go for sassy-gay [stereo]type characters.... but he is such an adorable brat! In fact, I see quite a lot of myself in him for some strange reason.
Plus the fact that he has long blonde hair and isn't overly masculine don't hurt.
Fictional characters, are often created as everyone's "ideal" mate, with qualities such as beauty, humor, bravery, etc. Using the "Zelda" series for example, females might be attracted to Link due to his handsomeness, bravery, physical build, and/or compassion. Basically, the characters are made for you to fall in love with them. I also share your feelings. So yes, it is normal ;-)
When I was a few years younger, I will admit to being a twihard. I had no interest in the story line, I just read the books and watched the movies for Jacob Black ;)
Now, on the occasion I come across anime characters or book characters that I feel strongly affiliated with. For instance, Odd Thomas from Dean Koontz's Odd saga... *fangirling*
Yet I think this behaviour is normal as long as you still find real people sexy too and you can uphold real friendships.
