  • I'm a happy 25 y/o man. There's plenty to be happy about. You depressed people need to stop being such whiny little babies. Your situation could be exponentially worse.

Do what makes you happy and stop looking for other people / things to do that for you.

    • You've clearly never been clinically depressed.

It's not the same as 'feeling a bit down'.

Yes, things could be worse, but it's not fair to undermine the situation of a depressed person.

I'm glad for your sake you've never experience it.

      • Even though I used the word "depressed", its clinical meaning is not what I was aiming for. I was responding to the tone of what the question was asking.

Unhappiness it the opposite of happiness, but depression is not. I was directing my reply to folks who are unhappy, not clinically depressed.

Honestly though, I feel that too many people are diagnosed as being depressed, when they're really just down on their luck and feeling sorry for themselves. (Not that all people are in this category)

        • Thank you for clarifying.

And I totally agree with the overdiagnosis part.
