When I was plagued with the traditional concept of "sex must never come before marriage" that society puts on young men and women, yes I was celibate. However, one day I realized that, that notion is a bit outrageous and if I wanted to continue celibacy it would be because I genuinely wanted to, not because society wanted me to. So, that night I lost my virginity, all because of a very sudden decision that I was tired of society's pressures. I loved my boyfriend and made the poor bugger wait for 6 months without sex (or any sexual contact of any kind), while before dating me he had a casual sex partner. The entire first six months I was dating him I had wanted to pursue sexual relations, but I didn't want to be labelled as a slut for giving it up before marriage (even though my friends had done the same).
Needless to say, I personally think sex is a nice connection between partners, but there are relationships where it doesn't have to be necessary. However, I enjoy it, it makes me feel good, sexy and relieved, but I also respect the choices of those who practice celibacy!
