  • I think you cannot compare humanities' meat eating habits with other animals', since we have the intellectual capacity and complex sociocultural environment that makes our individual ethical decisions significant.
    Tigers or lions have neither supermarkets or a brain developed well enough to actually understand morality. They make their decisions based on instincts and basic needs, but when it comes to eating, human beings are different.
    We do not need to eat meat to survive but we choose to because of other factors such as taste. This is why I think we do have a moral responsibility of what choice of diet we make.
    Personally, I think that modern farming causes a lot of unnecessary suffering and that it is a hazard to both our health and our environment, I've seen enough farms from the inside to know what's going on in there.
    And that's why I am a vegan.
