It's both depressing and reassuring. It's depressing because it takes away my last chance of getting any sleep while it's dark. But the onset of day reassures me because being awake in the day is what I'm supposed to be doing. Being awake at 3:30am every night makes me feel like a bit of a freak. I can see a couple of hundred homes from my bedroom window and when 199 lights are off and only one is on, and you know that person is probably someone who starts work at 5am, you just feel very alone.
I actually know what you mean dappled.
I now have permanent dark rings around my eyes. Never sleeping, never really awake. Just living in my head 90% of the time. seeing everyone in town just waking, the fresh glossy eyes still adjusting to the light. I miss the feeling.
Are you a night person or day person?
