"Good luck getting a friend in life". I counteract that statement by informing you that I don't want or need friends. I have a decent life without having any relationship with anyone.
"When my son asks me for something to eat, I'll tell him to make it himself." You SHOULD tell him to make it himself. How else is he going to learn to be self-sufficient, unless you're one of those coddling breeders who can't find a reason for existence other than being a parent.
