  • No, because I don't believe they are genuine. The more I see of them the more I see that it isn't about real issues its about creating a character arch by villifying the majority so they can be the important/special minority via *some* real life issues and some made up ones.

They do it by attacking everything within their culture because it means they're against the dominant culture, it means theyre the important underdogs.

It's why just a few years ago you would hear most feminists say how women are oppressed in the middle east (failed attempt to show how all women are oppressed) but now you'll mainly hear about how the hijab is such an awesome feminist symbol. Why? Well because their culture opposes ours, therefor that culture is beautiful and totally doesn't oppress women like they said it did two years ago, and if you dare say it does well then you're a white supremacist islamaphobe, buddy.

It's why they will sit there and act like toxic masculinity is a real thing, where men are sexist homophobes and must be stopped! But hey, all those guys that grew up in a culture that villifies homosexuals and where a woman's place is below a man? Well that's just A-okay! And why? Well because if straight white males weren't as bad as the actual people they seem to adore, well then it would undermine the whole basis of their underdog character arch of the white straight males, the ones they're surrounded by, being the worst and they just wouldn't be the important, protagonist, underdog, chosen ones of their make-believe fantasies anymore.

Soz for rambling. It's half two in the morning and I can't sleep.
