Are you a brony?

Well the other night i came across a webpage containing fan art, captions, fanfic and more stuff involving my little pony friendship is magic, and this got me thinking
Who else on this site enjoys the series or user made content on this show.

So my question basicly is
How many bronys are there on IIN?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • Never heard of this, but I have heard of My Little Pony. There's a large following of it on Tumblr. I am not a fan of the show.

    • I'm not trying to come across as someone forceful but I suggest checking the show out

  • No, but I probably should be. The phenomenon becomes more fascinating to me each time I hear about it.

  • I'm a brony! :D

The season finale kinda confused me. Twilight never mentioned before that she had a brother. And yet all the others took it in stride like she talked about him all the time.

Sorry for slightly off-topic, but meh~

    • lemme guess, we the helpers of the brony fandom, those who their fandom originated from, the ones who know what I mean when I talk about FA, renard, confuzzled, and the like?

*please mean furry so I don't look like an retard*

  • No never will I be, I despise that show for many reasons, and its fans piss me off to an extent too. Sending death threats over a voice change, pathetic.

      • Ever heard of Derpy Hooves? The bronies were sending death threats to people who wanted her eyes to be fixed so they didn't offend people.

    • huh, who changed? Just wondering, (im a noob to the show)

  • my little brony you are a phony triped on a wire and fell in a fire :3 (look at brony on college humor)

  • I'm not, but my little brother is. I think the ponies are cute and shit, but not a devout follower.

    • I'm not a devout follower myself, but I do check out the fandom's works from time to time. I gotta hand it to the fandom; I'd sit down to just appreciate the good art, music, and games.

  • what the fuck are you talking about?

    • A brony is someone who watches My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic and is out of the intended demographic. It has gained quite the following and is becoming one of the most popular TV shows as of late.

      • I don't even know what to say to that. *rolls eyes*

        • I'm surprised there are still people who don't know about them yet. Bronies have one of the largest fandoms right now.

There's usually a good reason why people took up a liking to the show...especially a massive unintended audience of older guys.

          • What range of older guys are we talking about? No I've never heard of it, i'm 26 and can't imagine grown men watching my little pony.

            • Guys/girls ages 15 and up to 23 is the 'standard' though their are older/younger people who also watch it.

I know it's hard to believe, but the show changed with FiM (Generation 4). It isn't all butterflies and rainbows like it used to be. It got more gender neutral, got rid of the extreme girly aspect, and re-did practically everything else. In my honest opinion, it shouldn't be called "My Little Pony" anymore. It's just so different from that 'crappy girly adfest for toys' that existed before it.

The new creator 'Lauren Faust' intended to give the show a new beginning; and she did just that! She is a well-respected director of cartoon shows (you probably saw her works when you were a teen, that's how far it goes back). The show tends to deal with more mature topics and has some adult humor thrown in (which also sparked the interest). The characters are actually interesting and likeable, the animation is much better, and the fandom is the friendliest fandom I've ever seen.

I could go on and on about what makes the fandom and show such a modern phenomena, but it would take several pages to cover it all. I hope this answers your questions (this is perspective from one who also watches the show) along side the other millions of people who do).

  • I don't associate with any of the community, so I wouldn't consider myself one, but I have watched all of both seasons....

  • First thing I thought when I read the title was 'jabroni'.
    No, though. Not a brony.
