Compared with people who have a healthy level of social interest, which corresponds with greater overall happiness and goodwill towards others, those who struggle with socializing in the real world are more egocentric, have increased dissatisfaction with life, and negativity towards others. Give these socially challenged people an anonymous voice and a virtual podium with an audience like the Internet, and you've now got a monster (aka: a know-it-all troll).
