Well, to be honest if someone just "decided" to be gay, like they wake up one day and decide "Hey, I'm going to like the opposite sex!" Then in a way that would mean we all have the possibility to just become gay or lesbian. Many people know already that coming out has many risks. Like the loss of close friends and family. Why would someone choose that? Does that make any sense? Also, if you're not attracted to the same sex, what makes you think a gay person is attracted to the opposite? While I do support gay rights, to me, guys having sex is gross. But thats because I'm straight..so, if someone is gay or lesbian, then what if they told you they think sex between opposite sex is unappealing to them? Can you change their preference? No matter what, the opposite sex just doesnt do it for them. If you were to put a hot, naked woman in front of a gay man, would you expect him to become aroused? No? Why? Hes not into women.
No one can change that.
I don't think anyone is born gay or bi. I really do think it's in the upbringing. I had a guy I dated when I was 13 and he was really into me. Now he's gay and married to a man.
So this make you an expert on the subject?
So how does one explain two brothers brought up the same way but one is straight, the other gay?
Holy shit! You're a girl? ... anyway... he was probably just trying to fit in or not be gay. Or maybe he is bi. Either way, when did you decided to be attracted to men?
I think a great many young women turn to other women as lovers, because of bad experiences with guys, possibly in high school or college. Not all, by any means, but I have discussed this with a few young gay women, and they agree with me. Some of these gay women eventually meet and settle down with men and live out their lives as straight women. A few gay women I've known seemed to be men, trapped in a woman's body, and that would be the born scenario, I guess.
That's as much as I know from personal experience.
"A few gay women I've known seemed to be men, trapped in a woman's body"
That seems trans to me. Not that you can't be whatever sexuality and trans but, if a transman (person born female but their gender is male) likes women, they'd generally consider themselves straight. From their perspective, at least.
People are born, people live, people love. Regardless of gender. Thats the way things are and the way things always will be.
Yeah. I believe so. Somethings are just determined before birth and sexuality is 1 of them.
There is no way homosexuality is a gene that is portrayed as a genotype, you cannot be born with being homosexual, heterosexual, or bisexual. For example, did you know that the fetus can have erections in the womb even though it has no memory or sight of another human being because at that point in life, that stimulation just occurs. Sexuality is based on the events that happen during the stages of life, especially early on. Have you noticed that no dogs, cats, mice, rats, or any other animal that I know of (except for the asexually reproducing ones and the ones that can switch gender roles as a biological trait of evolution such as the seahorse to carry egg but still produce sperm to fertilize) are not homosexual? This is because the human mind and human society is so complex and diverse that over time, traditional society evolves and with it, so does what people experience and portray over the media, laws, and ideology. Homosexuality is not a disease nor is it a biological trait given at birth, but a physiological consequence/outcome of a human's reflection on their experiences in life regarding sexuality and gender roles.
I personally believe that everyone is born bi. Under the right circumstances, anyone would have sex with any gender.
I was straight but a friend of me made me feel for men, so now I'm bi-sexual. You can be born that way, but I don't think it has to be like that.
Sexuality, like many psychological nuances, is a complex mix of genetics, embryology and general environment.
yes I think in most cases they are, but there are exceptions. Sexuality can be a choice.
I don't know if people are born gay or not. It's hard to tell considering people cannot remember being babies and do not feel extremely sexualized until puberty. It's a mystery.
Nobody knows and if anyone says they do, then they are probably an idiot (or at least someone who doesn't believe in research and scientific method).
Scientific method has shown that as the sex drive develops so does the orientation simultaneously in perfect sync. So people are born with a predisposition to being gay or straight.
Everybody knows this and has for awhile, it's not an opinion one can have but established fact.
They really don't. While a lot of research is expended on this, that research still confirms that sexuality (to the extremity of which gender we are attracted to) can't be proved to either be learned or congenital.
It might perhaps be one or the other, but even if it is, there is no evidence to support it that has been proven to be correct.
Well, unless you have access to new research.
Bisexuality is learned in open minded people, but homosexuality is a mutation in your genes.
