  • I think people with depression are more likely to view the negative foremost and ignore the positive.

    I don't think in general being depressed allows you to see through 'illusions', because self-deception is as much a part of being depressed as it is not being depressed.

    So in my opinion, depression predisposes you to a pessimistic attitude, but doesn't magically clear any clouds of bullshit.
