The Rockies are larger, yes; but the Appalachians were higher than the present-day Rockies millions of years ago.
The Porcupine Mountains of Michigan were likely taller than the Himalayan’s and look at how much they have eroded.
All fair points, but what Im trying to say is that you could spend weeks, if not months at the rockies. The Appalachians could be seen in less time than the Rockies
