I live in a National Forest in the Appalachians and I've visited the rockies extensively...I prefer Appalachia. Its much livelier. I like rain, insects, animals and greenery. I like to be able to grow a garden.
I like the abundance of precipitation in the Apps as well. We very rarely have to worry about forest fires like out west, and we never have water shortages.
