Anyone have experience with honor boxes?

I'm looking into honor boxes, those small boxes with candy and a place to place coins. I've heard you can make a good profit from even a small route with them, but I'm concerned about theft since the candy isn't locked and it's entirely up to one's own honor to pay for them.
Does anyone personally have experience with them if so, what?

Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

I knew a girl with an honor box.
All night long it was honor box, offer box, honor box, offer box.

We had one dropped off at work full of chocolate bars supplied by a company masquerading as a charity. They tried it twice & it didn't end well.

Farmers & smallholders have been putting stalls on the roadside with honesty boxes in quiet, rural areas over here for years. They usually have onions, root veg & fresh eggs amongst other seasonal goodies. On them they have a money box with a suggested price list.

As with all business location is key I guess.
