Anyone else think is it normal needs a politics option?

Politics are a huge part of our daily lifes.
Whether we like it or not.
So, when I have a question, or want to get on the soap box.
I don't see the option offered here.
Ok, for example.
The U.S. governments mixed messages about cuba.
We blocked them because they were communist. ( while giving most favored trade nation status to COMMUNIST china.)
Our immigration policy is we will take any Cuban that make it close to an American territory.
But we will deport a starving hatian.
Trump says we have no room for central American immigrants.
Yet, the border remains open and welcome for Communist cubans.
This shit is crazy.

    This site is for asking whether things are normal or not, not for people to bitch about crap they can’t change. Go to yahoo answers for your political opinions. Besides, there are already categories like feelings, thoughts, observations, misc, etc. I’m sure your views would fit in one of them.

    It is weird but we dont have a big issue with Cuban immigration. We've had the same policies for a while now. It is kind of hypocritical to do business with China while condemning communism. America is turning towards communism more and more these days. Socialism is a nicer word for communism. Its the same thing.

      Not sure we agree on socialist being the same as communist.
      I have friends in Norway.
      A socialist country.
      Things are covered:
      Healthcare for all.
      Maternity leave.
      Vacations.
      Schools, university's, retirement.
      But you are not told where to work.
      You aren't constantly on edge fearing the KGB, big brother etc.
      You have free press, and if you want to leave,,, there's the door.
      I'm not saying it's perfect.
      But it's definitely not communism.

        I wouldn't consider Norway a socialist country at all. It's a capitalist country with some social programs like the USA is, with much higher taxes.

    It's normal to want a place to discuss things that are plainly labeled. The other upside is that it becomes a "containment" area to prevent questions about politics explicitly ending up elsewhere. The downside is that it will be used, people will say mean things to each other, and feelings will be hurt.
    One could recommend that they use a different platform though. There are other places to discuss Politics. This doesn't actually have to be one of them.

    What could me or anyone else on here post to change your views? I am sure CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, etc have a place to post politics.

          Ok, bat.
          why not?
          Especially since so many issues overlap directly with politics.
          Like the recent abortion bans.
          Border wall.
          Homeless issue.
          Animal poaching.
          Taxes.
          Schools.
          unions.
          quality of life.
          for that matter, quality of death. ( assisted suicide )
          Healthcare, death penalties, etc.
          This is somehow not worth a discussion?
