Yes, this was in one of those college psych classes I watched. I'm not sure if it was cocaine per se, but I do know whatever it was secreted one or some of the feel good brain chemicals like dopamine and seratonin
It demonstrates how the brain will choose pleasure over survival
And as far as our brains go, we're similar enough for that study to bear true importance in our own decision making. The professor explained this part better, haha
All known drugs of abuse(whether weed, alcohol or heroin) cause secretion of a chemical called dopamine into an area of the brain called the mesolimbic pathway(also called the reward pathway).
