Angry when people falsify my talents?

For some reason I get angry when people think I have a natural born talent ie: perfect pitch. Like, Im really flattered that yall think Im a musical genius, but “no Karen. I cant fucking name those 5 random ass notes you banged out on the piano, but I sure as hell can tell when you aren’t singing the right notes”. It mostly bugs me when someone tries to show of my “talent” and I end up embarrassing myself because I “didnt pull an A flat minor out of my ass”. Is this a normal thing to get angry about?

Of course it's irritating but it also means they think you can do it. That's not a bad thing.

Doesn't that hurt when you pull an A flat minor out your ass?

I would imagine it's easier when you squish the minor flat first instead of pulling out a round one.

        • Sometimes squishing things flat can make them sharp

That’s a matter of personal perspective and I really can’t answer it

No it's not normal to get angry about that.
    Why do you even care??

    • Ok, this may sound childish but, my family multiplies like rabbits. I have so many cousins, aunts, and uncles, and other relatives that I barely know. My parents like to talk highly of me to said family at big family get-togethers, and quite frankly it’s embarrassing.

This still doesn't answer the question; why do you care so much?

        • Because I hate being embarrassed by my parents like a 13 y/o going through puberty

So you do know that it's acting like a 13 years old. (Unless you're currently 13 years old)
If anything, you should feel sorry for them. They probably have so little achievements in their life that they need you to fulfil the void.

            • I joke about it a lot, but sometimes I think I didnt mature emotionally past puberty.

  • Yeah I see what you mean. I find it annoying when people put me up to do shit that I'm not sure if I can do.
