Figure Trump is so popular because Republicans have figured out there is no way in hell they're going to win, so might as well trow away their vote on a rich man. Republicans have long, publicly sucked the dick of the rich.
Perhaps much of the old guard republicans hate The Donald more than the opposition. From what I've read they fear he may well undermine the party and drive away the white collar voters.
Only the 'low-information' voters will support The Dim Don.
