Is it normal that as a British person I have no fucking idea whatsoever about what the various NFL jargon means? Like what in the name of fuck is the difference between a "down" and a "play"?

Perfectly normal. Would you expect an American to know what a googly is or where silly mid off is (cricket terminology)?
I get you. Like just how is the guy who throws the cricket ball called a bowler. Shouldn't he be called a pitcher since he is pitching the ball but yet you call it bowling. Go figure how funny some cultures are.
It doesn't really matter if you're British or not. You're not interested in American football. So what?
"is it normal that i dont know anythin bout somethin i know nothin bout and refuse to spend 10 minutes to edify myself so id rather bitch bout the world bein a complex place?"
