I think a lot of people who live in the U.S. have never actually travelled to compare, so their opinions are based on speculation and movie portrayals of the "outside" world. It's a great country as far as the people, and it has a high standard of living. Of course, the history albeit limited, contains many things that disgust me, and the political policies are lamentable. I think if we had the current internal policies of England and reverted to our reactionary foreign policies from around WWII, we would be the ideal country.
