  • My cousin destroyed his liver and died at 39 from his excessive drinking. Please, please try and lay off it as much as possible.

    • Holy that is young. Was he a 24/7 guy? Just asking because the youngest person in my family to die of alcoholism was 62 and he downed 2 fifths every day since the age of 10. Guess my family must have strong livers.

      • Yeah, it is young. From what I can remember, he had 9-10 beers on most days and some days, he'd have a few more so about 12 total. He started drinking heavy at 21 and tried to slow to 5 beers a day for 6 months but couldn't.

        Maybe your family do have strong livers. It's all down luck, really. Like although most smokers get lung cancer or heart attacks as a result of smoking, some never do. Still, 62 is young. That's sad as well!
