Am i too much of a perfectionist?

I always get angry when I can't do some stuff perfectly. Like, when I'm playing a song in my guitar, if I fail a single note I ususally start all over again. When I'm playing a videogame and I don't get a good highscore or I get a B instead of an A on a level I replay until I get that A.

I also get very angry when I'm like writting something and I have a typo. I also try to be as accurate as possible in a lot of stuff, like when I'm learning a new song, mathematics, and a lot of other stuff.

This is a sign of you noticing your mistakes and wanting to correct them. This is part of learning.

We should always strive to do the best we can in everything we do, but perfectionism is a curse because it can stop us from doing anything at all. The only way you can be sure not to hit any wrong notes when you play that song on your guitar is to not even pick up the guitar in the first place. Once you get into that mindset, the logical conclusion is sitting on your sofa, staring blankly at the TV, and spiralling down into the pit of depression because you're certain you're useless.

Science has shown that new connections are physically made in our brains when we make mistakes. Mistakes and failure should seen as positive things that encourage growth and development, not as proof that you're useless.

Also, remember that the best is the enemy of the good. You may get some notes wrong in that song, but unless you live in some weird place full of musical prodigies who are all constantly strumming away on their guitars, it's certain you can play it a lot better than the vast majority of people you know.

YES, it is normal. There is no shame in putting all your effort into something. A perfectionist IS normal.
