Am i too attached to this part of my life?

I’ll probably look like a weirdo for being so fixated on a period of my life from a full decade ago, but I just wanna get this off my chest. What got me thinking about this again was that I just started watching Ant man and the Wasp on Netflix, and this is a REALLY minor nitpick but I felt the way that the government guy was talking to the main character’s daughter was really condescending, and they played it off as her being confused by big words, but I feel like a kid that old would probably understand that though.

I know that sounds stupid, but I remember being a tween vividly and always hating how people thought of kids my age like we still had the mentality of toddlers when I had some very dirty thoughts at that age. The example I gave is just one of many, and I guess it doesn’t matter, but imagine if not only were you stereotyped a lot, but literally no one in the entire world took you seriously for being offended. I guess I was like an SJW for kids before SJWs were really a thing.

I mean, I’m 20 now, I should really probably be over this, but I guess I just wanted to get my thoughts out there and see if anyone else ever felt similarly.

The good'ish news is that the older you get, the less people bother you. They quit trying to tell you how to live.

The reasons for that are because first, there is the "respect your elders". The older you get, the less "elders" you have. Plus the older you get, the less obligated you feel to deal with toxic people, even relatives.

Honestly though. it is best to let go of whatever arguments happened back then. Yes it is annoying to think about. We all have some kind of BS that happened to us back then but it just does not matter once we are out of school. Nothing from school daze, er, days matters now. Nothing good nor bad.

If given the chance to live my life over again, I would not do it.

M'kay. There's a lesson here for both of us, I'm afraid.

Me: Highly satisfied with my life. Even though I've endured a lifetime of quiet and continual desperation, self-actualization and career accomplishment was my escape. It made unhappiness irrelevant. I had the deck stacked against me when I was born, and could not have played my hand any better than I did. One life is enough. NO MORE.

You: Very unsatisfied with total lack of accomplishment, and lack of independence. But, man-boys give you attention at the snap of your fingers. Good dope is an indulgent earth-dog experience for you. Sex on demand, if you are inclined, is no problem; you are aware of the self-esteem issues and manage them well. Housing and a car are always provided for you whether you have a job, or not. You've basically enjoyed an active retirement since high school. Your happiness is unphased by dissatisfaction. In the final analysis, you don't care.

Despite the counseling, the Cluster B family dynamics, and "creep control" situations, would you ever trade places with me? No, you're smart enough not to.

No, I wouldn't ever want to trade places with you. However, the tone of your comment seems to assume that I live the life of Riley which it's not your place to say. Except for what you you read on this site, you don't really know me.

Sorry about the misinterpretation. I have always maintained that a good job is better than an active retirement. As we all know, a bad job can be hell.

I'm not trying to be anyone other than myself.

Neither am I. But this is a good thought experiment about what things are important in life. Or, maybe you have a different view on that.
