They are NOT misidentified. I am very familiar with pit bulls and they have very distinctive characteristics. I have seen photos of the dogs responsible for the fatalities in the US and every one identified as a pit bull WAS a pit bull.
You say if anyone tries to take your pit bull, you will kill them (typical white trash statement). PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, someone go and take Ryuhei's pit bull!!!!! As for the Staffordshire Terrier, they are Molosser type dogs and all such dogs fall within the pit bull category, so when a Staffordshire terrier is called a pit bull, there is no misidentification. All Molosser type (pit bull-type) dogs are volatile and dangerous and have been banned in places like the U.K. and in many areas of the U.S.
