My high school sweetheart who became my husband didn't believe in giving oral. Then he gave it to me one day, and I was absolutely disgusted and wondered what all of the fuss was about. We got divorced, and when I met my current husband I told him that oral wasn't necessary, because I did not like it. I was going off of my one and only previous experience though. My hubby convinced me to let him try it, and now I will practically beg for it. He makes me tingle, and I love it, so it could just be the person(s) that are giving oral that just aren't any good. Most men don't ask you what you like, but my husband makes sure to ask what I like, and how I like it. IT makes a difference in my opinion.
