The part about the food in the bag: it's like that so most of the chips (for example) don't get squished and ruined on the journey from the packing plant to the store. If they weren't filled with air, you'd prob have a bag of squished stuff. Also they sell it by weight. Read the nutrition facts label and you'll see how much food is in there.
