Am i pessimist? or insecure

Whenever I meet someone new an I get to know them and become friends, I tend to have this nagging thought to not get close to them. I feel that my relationships would never last long and sooner or later the person would get tired of me and end up leaving me. So I usually stay rather detached. Wht does this mean? Am I just a pessimist? Or just insecure?

Is It Normal?

  • There is nothing wrong with you. It is just that all of the people you are meeting have issues and you are right to be cautious. Everybody nowadays has issues. It sucks but thats the way it is

    • You dont know if the people he's meeting have issues. It's hard to say for his case, because he didnt explain much.

  • This is usually how I approach things, as well. I think you may have an avoidant attachment style of some sort, not that it's my place to psychoanalyze your entire personality based on a few sentences you've written on the internet or something.

  • Doesnt sound like you're a pesismist.

Just sounds like you could be insecure. But then again it could just be because you're shy.

Hard to say, im not you lol

  • Guarded. Likely because, in my experience anyway, many relationships don't last forever, some not very long at all. But none of them will last if you don't take a chance and let your guard down every once in a while.
