Yeah that was rude. Did he forget her name? That has happened to me with my partner, just couldn't recall the acquaintance's name to introduce & thought it would just be a quick greet... that can be pretty awkward for both. Ask him. Tell him how you felt. Clear the air or you'll collect grudges. If he doesn't listen/or change his behaviour, you'll know what to do.
