I don't know how old this post is but Tancho and everyone else said it all already. I would like to add though that from what I have learned in the 'love department' the one mistake you've made (as have I more often than I'd like to admit) is not recognize the point/moment when you should have let him go - which in your story IMO was at that one month and a half after it all began, when you say things started going sour. I ended up marrying a lover who I knew in the first month was completely wrong for me... Obviously we are no longer together.
So to sum it all up, if right at the start something seems to be off it's probably because IT IS. As much as we don't want to believe it :)
