It sounds more to me that you have a mind that's like a runaway train. You can't stop the negative thoughts, and actually telling yourself to stop thinking about them makes you think about it more. Quite honestly, I'd see a psychiatrist if I were you. Inquire about anxiety medication and possibly an anti-depressant. If nothing else, go back to the hospital and tell them what's going on.
