I do play a some games (Only a few hours a week now) when I feel like it but it's not an addiction so don't get me wrong on that. And I do other stuff than playing games, basically all I do in my spare time is, cooking, drawing, animating (In Flash) and listen to music. But I was kind of addicted to GTA a few years ago when I played constantly for maybe a few months so that game is kind of "stuck" in my head so that's why I image a lot of aspects from that game. NOT the crimes and violence from the game, just the setting and a bit of plot.
I want to read but I get very bored unfortunately because there's only a few different books that I have enjoyed so if I read a book there's a 99% percent chance that I will get bored. I've tried so many times but it's just for me.
P.S. I have only experienced benefits from video gaming (Expect for the time it takes) and I have been gaming since I was four years old. I can't imagine my life without growing up with games actually.
Am I insane? IIN?

Maybe excessive video gaming isn't the best thing for your mind if your thought processes are as you describe?
Read a book, paint a wall, dig a ditch. Do something that requires some concentration and does not allow your mind to wander.
