Am i expecting too much from a friendship?

Well I'm trying to find a friend/best friend who I can talk to and see on a regular basis.
For example my sister has a best friend who she talks to daily with.
I would love to find someone I could see almost each weekend and talk to/text couple times per week but maybe this is too much to expect from a friendship? Maybe in order to have this, I'd better be looking at having a relationship?
Opinions please?

    Best friendships are like babies... you can't just get one on demand, and you have to wait for them to grow. Relationships are no good replacement... the minute you bring sex/romance into it, it changes all the tallies.
