Don't stand them up. Just tell them you are not going. Either way is kind of bad, but ignoring and lying to them is worse in my opinion.
I was selling something the other day and this girl had contacted me about the item I was selling. I had been very polite in notifying her about the item as soon as it became available to her (because the last person fell through) just as she had requested.
Now SHE was the one who showed interest in the item in the first place by responding to my listing. So I texted her number and told her that she could now buy it if she was still interested. No answer. I waited a good while and decided to call her. The phone rang two times and she picked up, realized it was me apparently, and hung up. We had not even previously spoken verbally. I called back just to make sure, and it rang two times and went to voicemail, so I know she intentionally ignored me.
Why wouldn't she just tell me, through text or when I called, that she was no longer interested? It wouldn't have bothered me any. It's not as if I would have gotten mad/offended or something. But no, she was an immature person. She ignored me because she didn't have the -lady-BALLS to politely decline a business transaction properly. She took the cowards way out and THAT really pissed me off. Fake ass two-faced people that can't just be honest.
I am not saying that you are this way OP, but come on. Just man up already.
