After cutting my finger nails, my hands feel dry

This has happened ever since I was a kid. After cutting my finger nails, my hands always feel dry. I have even tried cutting them a bit longer... no luck! I usually just put lotion on my hands right after I cut my finger nails. Otherwise, my hands are usually not dry.

note: this doesn't happen with toenails/feet.

Is It Normal?

  • I get this; I always assumed it was the dust from when I filed, I usually file my nails after I cut them. Never really thought any more into it cus I have problems with my hands getting dry a good bit

    • Same thing happens to me! I get the feeling that my hands are uncomfortable right after cutting my finger nails. Interesting that your hands don't usually feel dry; I always assumed I felt it because I have an issue with having dry skin.
