Look I really felt the same way as you, but that age difference does matter.
For examlpe I'm 19 and I like a guy who is 26 and he likes me back but the more I get to know him I realise that because of our ages we want completly different things and have completly different expectations.
Also girls I have know with similar realationships to the one you talked about have been in a worse position after not better, usually these mean are very insecure hence they want to be with someone who cannot really challenge them.
