The law is a little paranoid and prudish and the legal age should be 16, and all statutory rape cases should be judged one by one, according to the individual circumstances. No one who has consentual sex with a PUBESCENT girl, whatever age, should be treated the same or almost the same as a violent rapist. But you're not even talking about sex, just an emotional realationship, so yeah, it's fine.
