Accents give me goosebumps

For whatever reason, whenever I hear someone with a particularly strong accent speaking in English I get goosebumps and shivers down my back. It's a very pleasurable sensation, and whenever I find a video on the internet where someone talks with an strong accent I watch it over and over until it no longer gives me the chills.

The effect is most prevalent when they speak in a slow manner and are giving instruction or help about something.

It doesn't even have to be a foreign accent. Someone with a USA southern drawl talking about fixing electrical wires works as much as a Nigerian man talking about business opportunities.

I've never thought too much about it, since it's just a weird but harmless quirk of mine. I've never heard of this happening to someone else before.

Is it normal?

    • You mean, regional accents of English speakers? Those are fun, but I really like strong African and Asian accents. For instance, hearing an Asian doctor instruct about acupuncture really gives me the goosebumps.
