You are correct, in that Old High German was not an extant language before the Middle Ages, but they were mostly contemporary with each other.
Some people who lived (mostly) in Northwestern Eurasia at the time, were still using various Germanic dialects, prior to Old High German being recognizable as a language, however.
Incorrect.
The incorrectly used word derived from 'gott', represents a concept peculiar to the religions founded by Abraham. Unless people using a different language (language family), have adopted one of these religions, AND have adopted a variant form from a Germanic language (including English, which is a German dialect) into their native language, then they would have no such word.
Please be more careful before making blanket assumptions and / or reaching conclusions about others.
There are, however, words in most other languages, that represent a similar concept, BUT many people / languages differ markedly in a concept (IF ANY) of a deity or deities.
THERE ARE NO 'GOODS'!
If you happen to live in a place where there is a 'goods and services tax', then you can refuse to pay it on 'goods'. There might be 'good services', but there is never a 'good tax'!
