  • Banks will be able to track the person down since there's a record of what was bought with the card.

The person owning the card can 'freeze' it and prevent it from being used provided that they check their bank information and see purchases they haven't made.

    • So if someone steals a credit card and buys something online and have it shipped to their enemy, the police will arrest their enemy based on those grounds?

      • No because it would be easy to trace the account or ip address that it was ordered from. The 'victim' would claim innocence and it would be relatively easy to prove.

      • Unlikely. They'll be suspicious, but they will investigate it further and look into the person's internet use.

      • That's actually a brilliant plan

        • Yeah, the banks probably haven't thought of this yet! So brilliant!
