A new law passed in the UK, which will be implemented at the end of 2018, forces all porn-sites to ask and verify the age of all of their users, so minors can't access their content. Do you think this is a good or bad idea?

It's a good idea for the fact that children shouldn't be viewing porographic material. But it's a bad idea if they have to verify age eith some sort of identification or credit card as that could open the doors to protection sensitive information getting leaked if not handled properly.

Seriously though, they should just leave it alone. It's not worth the money, the time or the effort to try to implement this censorship.
True, porn can be addictive, but I'm more of an advocate for education rather than restrictions on it.
To the majority of minors, porn is still not particularly harmful, if at all.
It's a terrible idea because they basically want it to be saved what porn sites you've signed up to. I live in the UK, and I just want everyone to know that our freedoms are getting crushed. We basically don't have freedom of speech, no freedom to bear arms, really sinister record keeping laws for online date and they're not implementing a law to stop under 16 year olds buying energy drinks... Yes energy drinks, I'm not bull shitting you.
To the rest of you reading this, don't give up your freedoms like we did. They'll always come with something that sounds reasonable in order to enact tighter laws strangling freedom, don't let them. Also this is terrible even on principle because it's just going to push porn underground to the dark web, which is a terrible and quite possibly dangerous idea.

What if I want it? Maybe you're not driven by a shitload of testosterone, but others are. Why should we be restricted from something that you personally dislike?
I think Rose might be referring to the dumb people that let it influence them negatively. I've known those types. They'd call me at like 2am for advice crying like bitches wondering why their boyfriend's dick looks nothing like the one in porn, why their girl has stretch marks while porn girls don't, why they can't take a thick strap on or dick up the ass without lube the first time, etc. They got so annoying. I like porn and know a majority of people aren't like they were, btw.

I would much prefer children watching porn than all the blood and guts movies that are so popular. A little porn won't hurt them!
Where I live it's illegal to watch porn, illegal to possess porn videos, illegal to share porn videos and pictures, illegal to visit porn sites.
Do I watch porn? Hell, yeah!
But really to introduce such a law is ridiculous. Here it is an old law that nobody dares to abolish. That will only make yound people keener to watch porn online.
I doubt it will actually be effective.
There are some sites that make you put in your date of birth before seeing graphic content, but that's all you have to do in order to "prove" you're of age.
Also, is it UK porn sites, or people in the UK? Either way, it can be avoided. In the first case, UK minors can just use foreign porn sites.
In the 2nd case, your IP address could be changed to the one from another country. I think IP address is how they know where you're from.
TOR is very easy to install, and bounces your IP address randomly. While it could accidentally land on a UK IP address, you might have some luck evading the law that way.
