hetero homo i dont know

I'm a 17 yr old female & up til now I think I've been straight...but everyone has questioning moments, right? Well, recently, my friend who is a lesbian is dating this beautiful girl & I can't place my emotion about it. Of course I want to be happy 4 them bcuz theyre both wonderful ppl & friends, but it's hard. Maybe I'm jealous of what they have or maybe just trying to rationalize. There are also dancers in my dance class w tight little bodys again jealous or do I want a girl?there've been rumors going around about me being bi.

I think sexuality is more fluid than people realize. We all have fleeting thoughts, some of them rather strong..but they don't last long enough for us to act on them. I have had fleeting homosexual thoughts but they never lasted long enough for me to act on them, so I consider myself a heterosexual ..because my attraction to women is very consistent. I also don't know how old you are because during puberty hormonal surges can be strong and your desire to be touched , caressed, held or have an orgasm can be so strong that you may project towards someone your not normally attracted to...don't worry so much about any label...think specific individuals that you like...

    • I definitely agree with a lot of what you're saying. But, I do care about this girl a lot a least as a friend for now. I still get the nervous what am I gong to say to this person feeling?

well this girl is your friend, and she just got in a relationship. It sounds like you are lonely without her comfort due to your friend having new comfort in her new relationship.
Also, it seems like you are very envious of other woman. because of their bodies or personality. I too find woman beautiful, but that's because we are. You can appreciate your own sex, but consider your lust for them. Could you imagine genuinely doing something with a woman, long term? Would it fulfill your expectations- or is it more of a yearning to look like them/ so being with them would be the next best thing.

  • Well honey, listen, the important thing is not to lable yourself. We're at an age where things are changing, and nothing is set in stone - not even how we feel about other people. If something comes out of it, then maybe you'll need to think about what that means for you - but having these feelings doesn't change who you are or mean you have anything to worry about. * text I got from my gay best friend when I told him about my crush on a girl

  • thanks DavidS. and like I said I thought about the jealousy thing, which i think applies to all girls but one. I mean she's so pretty tht guys have seen her & said are you sure she's gay? i'm not tyring to sterotype.

It doesn,t sound like you want to have sex with a female..it sounds like you are jealous of females...that feeling is more in line with heterosexuality as we compare ourselves to our competitors...while we feel either attraction or repulsion towards the opposite
