I think everyone may be missing the point. Men are fully aware that clothes and make-up are only clothes and make-up. The attraction is the girl underneath those clothes and we're going to be attracted to her no matter what she's wearing. However, if she's wearing something provocative, more men are going to notice.
That's all it is, though. We'll notice more often but we'll neither be more nor less attracted than we would have been anyway.
