That she was your ex might have been just a coincidence. Maybe they weren't dating and had just bumped into each other that night but because they kind of knew each other (you being the common link), and they decided to see if there was a connection. Don't think that your friend was trying to make you feel bad, even though you should kind of feel bad for being a loser. Let's face it.

OP doesn't sound at all bitter and jealous to me, just amazed that someone would behave like that in public after just getting engaged.
