"fine dining" restaurants salty as sh*t?

2/3 of all supposed "fine dining" restaurants I've been to so far have been ridiculously salty, to a degree where it's not just " individual taste" but kidney stones inducing. McDonalds isn't even half as salty as these bad boys. It's revolting. Am I strange for barely being able to finish my food sometimes because it is extremely "over seasoned"? I've heard similar comments as well, usually from thin people agreeing and fat people disagreeing with me on the extend of it, but the receptions don't show it anywhere. It's sad because usually everything else is sort of on point most of the time. It's not like I hate salt. I season my food too, but preferably in teaspoons and pinches, not gallons. Sometimes it really seems like they emptied half of the salt shaker for that meal. Was it just bad luck so far or has anyone had similar experiences? Is it normal?

Maybe your palate is not refined enough for Olive Garden.

Had a salty experience at a place yesterday. There was enough salt on my fries to give someone a heart attack. They probably scooped up salt from a huge fucking tub with a snow shovel and put it in our fries. It's delicious at first, but then it starts to burn a bit and then it's just gross.
