I dated a 300+ pounder from one of the free services once. In her photos she looked about 180. I ended up wasting $18 on movie tickets because I bought them before we met and didn't realize she would not be able to fit in a seat. We went to TGIF instead where I spent another $60.

There are two basic types of dating sites -
The free ones and then the pay ones.

Concentrating on free ones, they are all the same. Same people with same profiles. At first you try one but then think, "I wonder what the others are about?" but everyone else thinks this, therefore, you end up seeing the same people.

Of course for the profiles, There re the fakes, the flakes, the "we are a couple seeking a female", the fat asses and uglies who do even TRY to put up an attractive photo...

As far as these "specific type" sites that are for musicians, farmers, rich people, disabled, or whatever -
Yep, you guessed it. SAME people on all of them.

Plus it seems a lot of those on dating sites expect a lot more than what they can offer themselves. World of dork craft players with no job want a super model female. Ugly single mothers want a rich man or at least someone to take care of them, and don't expect any sex of course.

You can try dating sites but do expect a lot of headaches and bullshit.

Tinder is just fuckboys, but bumble has some decent guys. I don't know about the rest.

Why should one have to try so hard to be normal, when normal doesn’t exist?

Used grindr, just about everyone who messages you will only be looking to hook up. I did meet my boyfriend on there though so thars good, there's a few good seeds on there

I have experience with three sites:
    ---------------------------

PlentyOfFish - this site like a bar on Saturday night.

eHarmony - this site is Golddigger Central. Most users are degreed professional people.

Match.com - this site has a full spectrum of services from pen-pals to serious/marriage.
Good prospects to find what you want, but you will have to be more selective
because the user group is so broad.

You should add Plenty of Fish to the multiple choice.

Tastebuds is an actual app that matches people based on their musical taste and location, supposedly close to your area. It sometimes gets it so wrong so wrong, though. A couple of years ago, when I used it, I was matched with a really fun Steadicam operator from Paris. We became musical long distance friends. Cool!
